Stord/Haugesund University College (HSH) is a modern university college with around 3200 students and 315 staff who teach and conduct research focusing particularly on innovation and values for the region.

Faculties within the University College include:

  • Technology, Business, and Maritime Education,
  • Teacher and Cultural Education
  • Health Education.

Stord/Haugesund University College is situated on the south west coast of Norway and has two campuses, one on the island of Stord, the other in Haugesund.

From Janyary 1st 2017, HSH will become part of a new university college with about 16 000 students and 1400 employees. The new institution will consist of the current institutions HSH, Bergen University College and Sogn and Fjordane University College.

The ambition is to build stronger and more solid academic and research environments that interact nationally and internationally. The aim is to become a visible actor on the international higher education arena through increased international cooperation and engagement in externally funded projects within education and research.

The new University College in brief:

  • Approximately 16,000 students

  • Five campuses: Bergen, Førde, Haugesund, Sogndal and Stord

  • Existing international agreements and projects will be continued

  • The Rector's office will be in Bergen and Vice-Rectors will have responsibility for the regions: Bergen, Sogndal and Stord/Haugesund
