Advanced concepts and techniques for loading and discharging ships. Stability, trim and heel. Cargo handling. Relevant regulations.
The student should have thorough knowledge of loading techniques, including stability, trim and heel. They should acquire thorough knowledge of loading calculation, including oil calculation, grain calculation, dangerous cargoes and pollutant cargoes.
Ths students should be able to carry out advanced calculations within the subjects included in the course.
- General Qualifications:
The students should have theoretical knowledge about cargo operation, as required for responsible officers at the operational and management levels in STCW 78 as Amended, tables A-II/1 and A-II/2.
Lectures, workshops and simulator exercises.
